About us

We’re a fast growing startup tackling the problem of packaging waste with our reusable packaging solution. Already being used by some of the UK’s most influential grocers, we’re now talking to the biggest brands and grocers, to supply a solution that can help them all get their products in reusable packaging.

About you

We’re on the lookout for a self-starter who has previously owned the day-to-day running of a small business’ finance function. Someone who understands the need for attention to detail and is able to embed financial processes and controls as required and lead on commercial modelling and cashflow management to support the growth of the business.

Joining as the Financial Controller you will be pivotal to the day-to-day running of financial activities and providing timely data for management and board reporting and strategic modelling. You will work closely with the Exec Team and interact with all aspects of the business including Ops, Marketing, Web Dev and Customer Service.

What you’ll do;

  • Take responsibility for daily end to end transactional finance (use of Dext, Xero and Float to update daily transactions and track performance against Budget);

  • Manage accounts payable and Trade receivables;

  • Bank reconciliations;

  • Balance Sheet reconciliations including prepayments and accruals;

  • Prepare month end management accounts and board pack;

  • VAT returns;

  • Payroll processing;

  • Assisting the Exec Team with cashflow forecasting and budgeting by preparing actuals and rolling forward projections;

  • Ad hoc commercial analysis and cost analysis to help drive decision making; and

  • Any experience with Cap Table Management and Investor admin will also be looked upon favorably.

What we are looking for;

  • Qualified Accountant

  • Min 5 years finance experience in a similar role

  • Experience of Xero and Dext preferred

  • Excel/ Google sheets advanced user

  • High levels of IT literacy and comfort using online systems

  • Good problem solving ability

  • Shows initiative and takes ownership

We’re a small but experienced, values-driven, cross-functional remote team composed of engineering, UX/design, sales, ops, finance and support.

Culture & work/life

We’re a fully remote team on flexible hours (but generally available between 10am-4pm GMT) to accommodate busy family lives, but attendance at face-to-face strategy and All Hands and social days in London will be required at least every three months.

Ideally, the candidate will be available 5 days a week for a total of up 24 hours, but we're happy to discuss what works for both of us.
